2025 European Researchers’ Night

On September 26, our team participated in the 2025 European Researchers’ Night, a premier event dedicated to bridging the gap between scientific research and the general public. It provided an ideal stage to share the latest milestones of our ongoing work with the broader community.

Advancing Surgical Planning through Virtual Reality

During the event, we premiered our proprietary Virtual Reality (VR) platform, designed to transform the pre-operative phase of craniomaxillofacial surgery. The system facilitates a high-level collaboration between surgeons and engineers by utilizing Human Digital Twins. By creating these highly accurate digital replicas, the platform allows for a level of surgical simulation and collaborative planning that was previously unattainable.

Collaborative Feedback and User-Centric Design

The live demonstration attracted a diverse audience, including medical professionals, fellow researchers, and curious citizens. By allowing attendees to interact directly with the VR environment, we gathered critical qualitative data regarding:

Feature Functionality: Identifying which tools provide the most clinical value.
Usability: Streamlining the interface for intuitive use in high-pressure environments.
User Comfort: Addressing the ergonomic challenges of immersive technology.

These insights are instrumental as we continue to refine the human-machine interface, ensuring that the final application is as fluid, functional, and immersive as possible.

A Foundation for Innovation

We extend our gratitude to everyone who engaged with our research. This event reaffirmed that true innovation is rooted in open dialogue and the exchange of ideas between experts and the public. The feedback received in Turin will directly inform the next stage of our development, bringing us one step closer to clinical implementation.
