DIGITAL TWIN on Smart Manufacturing

On May, 28-29 we hosted the first meeting related to the “DIGITAL TWIN on Smart Manufacturing” project.

The adoption of digital twin technologies is becoming more prevalent in the manufacturing industry, including product design, maintenance, and production planning. Nonetheless, its concept has also led to a variety of emerging applications in other industries, such as healthcare, highlighting the need of training new professional figures.

In the first meeting, the digital and technological skills that such a figure should have been discussed even in the light of the recent increasing attention to sustainability.

Meeting Information

Politecnico di Torino

As the first engineering school founded in Italy, since 1859 the Politecnico di Torino has been training engineers, architects, designers and land planners who help bring change and innovation to all areas of society. In a profoundly evolving world scenario, as a result of disruptive phenomena such as globalisation, climate change and the spread of new and increasingly pervasive technologies, the University must evolve to continue to make a tangible impact. The Politecnico has therefore transformed itself into a ‘platform’ university: inclusive, open to the world of professions and industry and with a key role in the processes of innovation and lifelong learning, in order to increasingly become a driving force behind the sustainable development of society.
