Enrico Vezzetti

Prof. Enrico Vezzetti is Full Professor of Design Tools and Methods at the Politecnico di Torino (Department of Management and Production Engineering – DIGEP). He serves as a member of the Council of the Specializing Master’s Programmes and Lifelong Learning of the Politecnico di Torino Master School, as well as a member of the Department Executive Committee. He is also appointed as the Rector’s Delegate for relations with the University of Valle d’Aosta and with stakeholders in the Canavese area and the Valle d’Aosta region.

His research activity focuses on product development methodologies, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), advanced 3D modeling, 3D acquisition systems (including 3D scanning technologies), and Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality. Furthermore, his work has expanded toward human-centered and AI-based applications, including medical and surgical support systems, digital twins, and immersive technologies for industry and cultural heritage.

Prof. Vezzetti has authored and co-authored more than 150 scientific publications in international journals and conferences, with a strong impact in the fields of design engineering, digital manufacturing, and smart healthcare.

He is an active member of the Italian Association of Design and Methods for Industrial Engineering (ADM) and serves on the editorial boards of several international scientific journals, including the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Springer) and Recent Patents on Computer Science (Bentham Science). He is also a regular reviewer for major international journals and funding bodies, contributing to the evaluation of research and innovation projects at European, national, and regional levels.

Throughout his career, he has coordinated and participated in numerous competitive research projects and industrial collaborations, often acting as scientific coordinator in areas related to digital design, smart manufacturing, and advanced technologies for healthcare and industry.
