He received the master’s degree in Computer Science in 2016 and the Ph.D. in Management, Production and Design in 2021 at the same university. In 2019 he spent a visiting period at EURECOM, Sophia Antipolis, in France, studying the human face morphology. He worked with RGB-D cameras to optimize acquisition and post-processing phases and to obtain real-time color and depth video streams; this work was used to feed a Deep Learning architecture for Facial Expression Recognition. He also dealt with medical data reconstructing 2D images in 3D and simulating the relative movements between two anatomical parts for pre-operative planning and post-operative assessment. He is currently investigating Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technologies in several application fields: industrial, medical, and cultural heritage.
